A social entrepreneur, strategist, communication professional and creative writer, Arun started his career as a print journalist from culturally rich and politically vibrant city of Lucknow. Later he spent more than 14 years at senior editorial, creative and corporate positions at brands like BBC World, Star News and Tata Teleservices. Arun helped the launch and operations of around a dozen TV channels and two digital media ventures as consultant and entrepreneur in India, Pakistan & Bangladesh. A Published author and filmmaker Arun has been nurturing a deep urge of being at social sector since long as he wanted to use his experience, exposure and strategic thinking to make this world a bit more habitable.
With more than 39 years of PSU experience in the areas of Governance, Business Responsibility, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Resettlement & Rehabilitation Dinesh has special interest in Institutional Strengthening, Stakeholder engagement, negotiation & conflict resolution, Social & Environmental Impact Assessment, Socio Economic and Need Assessment Survey, training and capacity building. A Mechanical Engineering graduate from GB Pant University and undergone Leadership Programme at IIM, Lucknow, LEAD International, UK and ICH, Norway, he provided leadership for formulating Standards on “Social Accountability at Work Place” & “Guidance on Good Governance” for Bureau of Indian Standard, “National Voluntary Guidelines on Economic, Social and Environmental Responsibilities of Business” and “National Policy on Rehabilitation & Resettlement” for Government of India.
Donia has 15 years of experience in providing strategic and technical expertise in Private sector and Market systems development, as well as Business environment improvement in various countries of Africa and Asia. She has a track record in: 1. Building sustainable business linkages between large corporates and Small and Medium businesses in selected value chains (agriculture and food processing, technology innovations, mining, tourism/hospitality, etc.). This was done through a combination of brokering and performance capacity strengthening in the aim of addressing market failures (mismatch between large buyers’ expectations and local small business ability to deliver the expected product/service); 2. Facilitating public private partnerships to promote regular dialogue between the private sector and the Government.
Divya is a passionate Sustainability and CSR professional with rich experience in the Textile and Apparel sector sustainability issues. Divya works across industry sectors and engages in promoting uptake of responsible business policies and practices across value chains. Divya steers the strategic direction of CRB and has been responsible for conceptualizing and developing the global portfolio of CRB’s services, programmes and partnerships as a member of the founding leadership team at CRB. Divya is a graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi and a post graduate in Social Responsibility and Sustainability from Aston Business School, UK.
With an academic background in Botany and Environment Management, Madhuri has spent 15 years working as an environment and sustainability professional, across consultancy firm, corporate entities, a research institution and an auditing firm (for climate change projects) in Germany. During this period, Madhuri worked in various environmental areas including Climate change policy, Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under Kyoto Protocol, sustainability management and reporting based on Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) guidelines, Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), legal compliances and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and SA 8000). Currently, Madhuri is enrolled for a part-time PhD program with the TERI University..
Meera Mitra has a PhD from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. She is a Sociologist and Development Specialist. Dr. Mitra has been in academics and development consultancy in India and the U.S. She began her career teaching at JMC (Delhi University). She also held teaching positions at Franklin & Marshall College USA and Millersville University. Dr. Mitra directed several social development implementation projects across India. She served on two BIS panels (Social Accountability Standards and Good Governance standards). She has authored reports, journal and newspaper articles. Her books: ‘It’s Only Business: India’s Corporate Social Responsiveness in a Globalised World’ Oxford University Press 2009 and ‘BREAKING THROUGH: India’s Stories of Beating the Odds on POVERTY’ (2015 Rupa).
Rijit Sengupta, hold a Post graduate degree in Agriculture from University of Calcutta, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Systems Management (specializing in Environment Management) from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISW&BM), Calcutta. He is an Alumni of the United Nations University (Tokyo) program on International Cooperation and Development. He has experience of over sixteen years in various areas of Sustainable Development policy and practice.
Ravi Raj Atrey is an emerging Social Development and Corporate Social Responsibility leader in India. Working and strategizing responsible business and structural social reforms are passions for Ravi. His span of 14 years’ experience includes working with the National Government, International and National Civil Society Organizations, Social Development and CSR Consulting Firms. As a Consultant, he has worked on varied projects with the Government of India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Rural Development, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He is an expert in Impact evaluations of the developmental and CSR projects and has been involved with key corporate houses/MNCs, International Civil Society organizations and reputed Consulting Firms. He had multi-disciplinary education in International Laws and Diplomacy, Human Rights, Social Work, Business Administration, and Economics at Masters, UGC-NET in Social-Work and Certified in Management Consulting, his doctoral research is on effectiveness of corporate social responsibility initiatives in India.
Ria Sinha has a PhD in Business Sustainability from TERI School of Advanced Studies (SAS), New Delhi, India, studying the interface between Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) issues and business with special reference to the Indian corporate sector. With a bachelors and masters in Economics from Calcutta University, she has more than seven years of experience in the domain of Business Sustainability with research interests in Socially Responsible Investing, ESG Investing, Sustainability Financing and related areas. In CRB she is employed as a Research Fellow and continues to strengthen the research vertical of the organization. At present she is focusing on the role of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) and developing the business case for SDG’s. Dr. Sinha has presented papers in international conferences including Vienna, Berlin and Boston and has published her research work in peer-reviewed journals such as AIMS International Journal of Management,
Sohini has been working in the sustainability domain for the past 7 years with expertise in areas like sustainable consumption and production, life cycle assessment & management (LCA/M), capability maturity models (Life Cycle Management-LCM, Zero Defect Zero Effect-ZED), climate change mitigation, and carbon markets. She has extensively worked with UN Environment. Previously, she has worked with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Ms. Sohini has completed her B.Sc (Hons) Zoology from Miranda House, University of Delhi and MSc. Natural Resources Management from TERI University, New Delhi.
