About Us
Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) was established in 2011 as think-tank to pursue its vision, ‘businesses integrate sustainability into their core business practices’. Given that sustainability is a multi-dimensional problem especially in the context of India and other emerging economies, CRB has adopted a model of engaging multiple stakeholders to develop action plans for promoting sustainable/responsible business, across various sectors in India.

Dr. Bimal Arora is the founding CEO of Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) which he
established to facilitate participation of Indian actors in voluntary global governance for
sustainability. Having handed over the executive leadership, Dr. Arora served as the
Honorary Chairperson of CRB. He was Reader in Enterprise at Centre for Enterprise at
Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and Adjunct Faculty at Alliance Manchester
Business School (AMBS), the University of Manchester, UK. He also held a Visiting
Research Fellow position at International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR)
at Nottingham University Business School, and at Copenhagen Business School. Dr. Arora
was a sustainability, CSR and ethical trade expert with extensive experience working in
practice and research with diverse sectors. Dr. Arora was an ingenious thinker, strategist
and author on business responsibility and accountability. With extensive experience of over
30 years across diverse sectors, Dr. Arora’s work has been published in several academic
journals and business magazines. He obtained his Masters’ degree from London School of
Economics and PhD in CSR and Sustainability from ICCSR, Nottingham University Business
School.
