Youth Session at ISS 2021
Townhall Session with Melton Foundation, June 2021
Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) and Melton Foundation hosted a panel discussion on the topic “Rethinking Sustainable Consumption and Production: Shifting Business and Consumption Patterns” on 24 June 2021. During this session the participants identified ideas and solutions to further sustainable consumption and production in the current scenario along with highlighting the role businesses and youth could play in promoting sustainable development goals, specifically SDG 12.
Youth Session at ISS 2020
A session on, ‘Public Consultation: Youth for Sustainability (YfS) India Alliance’, co-hosted by CRB, Human Circle and RSPO was held at ISS 2020 on 30th October 2020. The session was focused at the youth, who are ready to take up the ‘shared responsibility’ and engage constructively with the key stakeholders involved, namely, businesses, governments, consumers and the civil society in general. The session objectives were:
- Introduction to the vision, goals, action plan and initial roadmap of the proposed YFS India Alliance
- Public consultation for the terms of reference of the YfS India Alliance

Asian Youth for Sustainable Palm Oil Summit (AYSPO) and RT17
CRB participated in the RSPO RT 17 held on 03-06 November 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Youth delegation that was part of RT 17, hosted their Inaugural Asian Youth for Sustainable Palm Oil Summit (AYSPO) held in collaboration with GIZ Thailand, PM Haze, and RSPO on 03 November 2019. The summit was co-organized by RSPO, the People’s Movement to Stop Haze (PM Haze), and GIZ Thailand. The summit comprised fifty young people from China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand who gathered to discuss methods on co-creating their commitments towards shared responsibility for making sustainable palm oil the norm.
Youth Session at ISS 2019
CRB in collaboration with Pravah, Human Circle, AIESEC – India, Sweccha, Sustainability Style Speak (SUSS) hosted a session on Youth as Architects and Advocates on Sustainability in India at the India and Sustainability Standard (ISS 2019). The session looked at exploring and identifying methods/approaches for enabling the youth as architects/advocates of sustainability, creation an agenda for the youth to drive actions on sustainable consumption and production and climate action – by engaging with businesses, government agencies and civil society and explore possibility for an Alliance or platform on Youth for Sustainability in India.
Young India Challenge
CRB was ‘Knowledge Partner’ at the 10th Young India Challenge organized by Human Circle and supported by RSPO – held on 12-13 October 2019 in Delhi. The theme of the challenge was ‘Sustainable Living’ and the challenge was focused on ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’ and ‘Climate Action’. The event was attended by over 500 youngsters passionate about sustainability. CRB as a knowledge partner supported the event in setting up a ‘mentorship panel’, which included experts from businesses/industry/NGOs who were invited to speak to the youth on their journey and guide them on their ideas related to the theme of the event.
