Mr. R. C. Kesar

Chairperson, CRB

Mr R C Kesar, presently Director General, OGTC (Okhla Garment and Textile Cluster), is a highly experienced Textile professional with over 55 years of experience in the Textile Industry. He started his career as a Textile Graduate Trainee and went on to become CEO and Board level positions. Widely traveled internationally and nationally, he has represented Textile Association during formulation of Textile Policy and Technological Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) at the Government and Industry interaction and a Key crusader in getting cotton textiles free of excise duty.

Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan

Professor, IIM Bangalore

Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan is a Professor in the Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management Area at IIM, Bangalore. At IIM Bangalore, she is also the Chairperson of Alumni Relations and Ethics and Code of Conduct. Prof Srinivasan has a PGD in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, XLRI, Jamshedpur and a Fellow Program in Management (PhD equivalent), IIM Bangalore. Prof Srinivasan is on the Board of Advisors – National HRD Network Bangalore Chapter, Chairperson Fourth Wave Foundation, Bangalore and Board member of Enable India Bangalore, Member of the India leadership team of Globethics.net (Geneva based organization). She also runs a website www.teachcsr.com, which has about 900 members and promotes teaching in Business Ethics and CSR in India. She has consulted extensively for both Indian and multinational companies in the field of leadership development.

Connoisseur of Music, be it Hindustani Classical, (VOCAL/Instrumental) Sufi, & Performing Arts.

Mr. Deepak Arora

Deepak Arora’s journey in the CSR arena began with Cairn India in 2008 and since then he has had several “Firsts” to his credit. The IFC valuation tool was implemented under his leadership for the first and only time in India. He is now heading the Public Affairs function for Nayara Energy Limited. Nayara Energy operates India’s second largest refinery in the private sector.

His strength lies in interconnecting community needs into what he terms as “web of neurons” building intelligent solutions. A great communicator, clairvoyant leader and brilliant thinker, his views are always a step ahead of others. He is an active member in several national level committees and an active contributor to various forums and national television.

Dr. Meera Mitra

Honorary Member, CRB

Dr. Meera Mitra is Member, Governing Body, Centre for Responsible Business. She is a Development Specialist with over two decades of experience in development consultancy, academic teaching in India and the US, and in the design/management of multi-state and multi-sector social development projects in India.

Meera has a Ph.D. in Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University.
Her books:

‘It’s Only Business – India’s Corporate Social Responsiveness in a Globalised World’: Oxford University Press 2006/2009 was an early insight into CSR.

‘Breaking Through POVERTY’ (Rupa, 2014) – comprises multi-state case studies of poverty barriers to ease of business/entrepreneurship, governance participation, livelihood, and life.

Her consultancy included work for JPS/Adam Smith International, Partners in Change, and in consultancy research at IFRP, Research Triangle Park, NC/USA (previously part of UNC Chapel Hill, USA). She taught at JMC (DU), Franklin & Marshall College, and Millersville University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Meera is a Member of the Sustainability Forum, Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry  (BCC&I), and Mentor, BCC&I EAC (National). She served as member, IFAD Micro-enterprises Country Evaluation, and BIS Panel for ‘Social Accountability at Workplace Standard’ and ‘Good Governance Principles’.

In development practice, Meera designed/managed implementation projects at national/state/sub-state levels, rural & urban, including via research, training, and IEC at Acord supported by GoI, state govts, foundations, bilateral and multilateral entities. Sectoral coverage included health/water/education, governance participation, and poverty alleviation.

Mr. Farhad Vania

Portfolio Management Advisor to the Country Director, GIZ

Mr Farhad Vania is a Portfolio Management advisor to the Country Director at GIZ India. Mr. Vania oversees Indian portfolio development for GIZ India which includes interface with Dept. for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India, Other line ministries; and also includes working with State agencies, donor agencies, training, research & academic institutions and civil society organisations. Mr Vania holds a Masters in Human Ecology from Centre for Human Ecology at the University of Edinburgh, as well as Masters in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. He has over 15 years of experience with various projects related to CSR, forest, wildlife conservation, environmental management and social development.

A member of the Work and Organizational Psychology Group and Director of the Aston India Foundation for Applied Research, Mr. Pawan is Professor of International HRM at Aston Business School, UK. He is Editor-in-Chief of British Journal of Management, a Fellow of the Academy f Social Sciences, the Higher Education Academy and the British Academy of Management, and has held man visiting professorships worldwide.

Rijit Sengupta is CEO of the Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) – and has over twenty five years of work experience across Asia, Africa and Europe.

His interest lies in the interface of business and society – particularly environment management, consumer protection, sustainable entrepreneurship, business regulation, responsible business conduct and SDGs. He has designed and implemented various projects/programmes on these topics in Sub-Saharan Africa; South Asian and South East Asian countries. Currently, while much of his work on sustainable business/SDGs is focused on India, he has also been engaged in: (i) advocating for balanced North-South dialogue on sustainability governance and (ii) exploring greater South-South cooperation and learnings on sustainable business. He enjoys researching, writing and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders on these issues. He has a Master degree in Agriculture and a Postgraduate degree in Environment Management. He is an Alumnus of the University of Calcutta (India), Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (India) and the United Nations University, Tokyo (Japan). He is Member, Advisory Board of the Trade for Sustainable Development programme (International Trade Centre, Geneva); Member, Advisory Committee, Consumer Information Programme, One Planet Network (UN Environment, Paris) and Member of the Board, Alliance for Water Stewardship (A4WS, Edinburgh).
