Demonstrating Decarbonisation Pathways through Pilots in Textile SMEs
Overview
The project ‘Demonstrating Decarbonisation Pathways through Pilots in Textile SMEs’ focuses on piloting decarbonisation strategies for SMEs in Panipat’s textile cluster, also known as the “cast-off capital”. The textile recycling cluster processes a significant amount of post-consumption waste but simultaneously emits 1.4 million tons of CO2 annually while relying heavily on non-renewable energy sources.Â
The project aims to build capacities and create a supportive ecosystem that facilitates adoption of decarbonisation strategies through key enablers such as reskilling, technology adoption, policy advocacy, and financing. The project aims to reduce emissions, foster a green economy, and promote gender equality.
